Wadezig Organization
Social Media Marketing Specialist · Apr 2013 – Aug 2013
Wadezig is a local fashion brand from Bandung that actively built its community on social media, at a time when Instagram was just beginning to boom and local brands were starting to look at digital.
What I Did
This was my first experience in the marketing world, before finishing university. Wadezig gave me space to learn hands-on: create content, manage community, and start experimenting with Facebook ads that were still relatively cheap at the time.
Here I first felt firsthand how the right content can move conversations, and how a local brand can compete for attention against big brands through creativity alone.
Though brief, this experience planted my interest in the relationship between content, community, and conversion. Something I continue to carry into even my most technical work.
Tools & Approach
“Local brands can't outspend big brand advertising budgets. But they can outperform them in authenticity and community closeness.”
Lessons Learned
This experience taught me that the most effective marketing is what feels personal and relevant, not what has the biggest budget.
